With the increasing role of digitalization in our lives in recent years, marketing methods have also slightly differentiated from traditional methods. Trade shows have an important role in reaching new customers and promoting their companies especially for companies operating in the B2B business model.
Turkish Ministry of Commerce offers specific overseas fair supports to encourage companies to participate in fairs abroad. With the support of the promotional activities carried out by the organizers authorized by the Turkish Ministry of Commerce for the trade shows abroad, it is aimed to increase the exports through the participation of companies from all sectors and at all levels, clinging onto the markets they currently export, and adding new ones to the existing markets.
Which companies can benefit from foreign trade show supports in Turkey?
The companies who are members of the exporters' association established under the provisions of the Turkish Commercial Code and producer/manufacturer organizations localized in Turkey can benefit from foreign trade show supports.
Which companies in Turkey can apply for support?
Producer/manufacturer organizations in Turkey (federations, unions, associations) which bring together manufacturing companies operating in the same branch of production who are members of the exporters association established under the provisions of the Turkish Commercial Code, and who are in the list of trade shows carried out by organizers authorized by the Turkish Ministry of Commerce or international trades determined by Turkish Ministry of Commerce, can apply for the support.

For the participation of companies and manufacturers or manufacturer organizations in foreign trade shows; the support is provided by the Turkish Ministry of Commerce within the scope of the principal amount based on the costs of rent, transportation and stand which is determined on a square meter basis. The principal amount is determined by calculating over 70% for target countries and 50% for other countries.
Firms and manufacturer/manufacturer organizations can benefit from supports up to 77,000 TRY in general trade shows, up to 117,000 TRY in sectoral international trade shows and up to 394,000 TRY in prestigious trade shows within the framework of the support determined on a square meter basis. The promotion activities carried out by the organizers authorized by the Turkish Ministry of Commerce to promote foreign trade shows are also included in the support. As of July 1, 2017, there has been a radical change in the international trade show support legislation, and the support legislation has been made simpler to minimize transactions and accelerate the support payment process. Thus, it is aimed to ensure that the exporting companies participate in more trade shows abroad and show up in more markets, thence increasing the volume of and the market diversity in Turkish exports.
